If you were lied on and fired from your job b/c of hear say could you sue the company and the person who gave them false information?

The company, no, at least not successfully (assuming you had no

valid contract of employment protecting you from such summary dismissal).

However, the person who provided the false information which allegedly led

to your dismissal might possibly be liable for defamation on which you

might be successful in grounding a lawsuit in civil court.
