non compete agreement

i am a manager for a independent cell phone dealer. i signed a typical non compete agreement. our store sells 6 major cellphone companies. i want to leave this company, based on several reasons, and work for one of the major cell phone companies that we sell. can i do this?

Re: non compete agreement

Sure you can do it(leaving and hooking up with a competitor), but it will have to be in conformance with the terms of the noncompete agreement in order for you to avoid being sued by your current employer.
