Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

non complete clause contracts

I am currently a salesman selling water treatment equipment in the southwest Va.

11 years ago I signed a 1 year non compete clause contract, when I started with this company. This company covers Va. Wva DC and Md.. My job then was operations manager

for 4 offices. I took the sales position 10 months ago with the same company.

I'm looking at taking a job with another water treatment company that cover the entire US selling equipment in the same state but a different territory and slightly different equipment. This is a right to work state. What do you think they could do to me since it's, a different position and different territory? Do you think this type of contract has a leg to stand on after 11 years of employment? I most likely would not be going into their customer either.

Re: non complete clause contracts

Without reviewing the non-compete agreement itself, there's no way to answer this question.
