overpayment

I work for a Va. State Govt. agency My employer advised me they have been over paying for the past 5 years. Am I legaly obligated to pay back any monies allegedly overpayed to me?

Yes, but you should first demand to see meticulous and compelling proof of these alleged "overpayments" that supposedly having been going on all these years and(presumably)only recently detected.
