Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Pay cut without notice

My employer without any notice or reason that I am aware of came to me on a Friday at business close and stated he wanted to make some changes and that he would be moving me to a delivery driver position starting on Monday. I was currently a plant forman. I said ok and asked did I do something wrong? He did not state a reason and he restated he just wanted to make some changes. That was the end of the conversation. My question is since there was no discussion regarding rate of pay and there is no specific pay rate for a driver can he cut my pay and continue to work me for an entire week and a half and I find out my pay has been cut by getting a reduced pay check?

Re: Pay cut without notice

Yes, very likely he can unless you're currently working under the protection of a contract which would prohibit such actions on the part of your employer.
