I Have to pay for traninig...?

Recently I have been ask to gain a certification for my job inorder for my employer to be compliant with state regulations. Thing about it is they are telling me I have to pay for it and it is $500. Can they make me get traning and make me pay for it?

Unless you're working under a contract/collective bargaining agreement which says otherwise, your employer can require that you pay for your training.
