What are some illegal methods by which an employer may punish/penalize an employee

Corporal punishment would be illegal. As for other forms of punishment it would be easier for you to name what form of punishment is taking place or what form of punishment you intend to inflict than for an attorney to name all possible punishments that would be considered illegal.
