Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

policy and procedure manual

i am revising a 32-page agreement between my company and its sales reps. i want to outline in detail approximately 25 company policies and procedures, but to do so in the sales rep agreement would make it about 75 pages long. can i create a policy and procedure manual, and reference policy #XYZ in the rep agreement? could i make compliance with the policies and procedures contained within a binding part of the rep agreement? if not, what do i do every time there is a policy or procedure change? do i have to re-do each sales reps agreement and have them sign a new one? thank you for your help.

Re: policy and procedure manual

You can incorporate by reference policy #xyz in the agreement. Court orders do this all the time.

Make sure, however, that the rep knows (and has a copy) of exactly what's being incorporated in his agreement.
