Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Pregnacy and Harassment

My wife is experiencing harassment and discrimination by her supervisors and fellow employees. She is a dental assistant, and works with X-Rays, since she is in her first trimester, her physician (OB-GYN) has mandated that she not be exposed to the radiation at her work. There are front desk positions availiable, but they insist that ''other'' people have done it. why can't she. Also since her pregnacy they have constantly accused her of being lazy to the point of ganging up on her in meetings to make her uncomfortable. Her work ethics have not changed and she continues to meet or exceed the goals of the company. What can we do?

Re: Pregnacy and Harassment

Unless the company is subject to federal FMLA or your wife is working under an employment contract that might

offer her some protection from some of the kinds of adverse actions which you've described, I would say, not much, in answer to your question.
