Property Damage - Who is Responsible

A farm employee was using a farm owned truck and trailer for farm business on farm time. The truck and trailer were damaged - no other vehicle was involved. Is the employee or employer financially responsible for the damages?

If the employee was negligent while operating the farm vehicle and the damage was caused by his negligence, the employee is responsible unless he's working under a specific contract which absolves him of liability for damage to farm equipment incurred under these kinds of circumstances.
