Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I was a property manager for an apartment community for 4 years. I referred many friends to reside at this community. I recently gave my 2wks notice and fulfilled my obligation to my ex employers. I havent worked there for about a month and a half. I went there on Friday to meet an old co-worker to go to dinner. Within 45 minutes I received a phone call from my old employer barring me from the property. What right do they have to do that and now I can no longer visit any friends that live there? Is this considered harrassment. I understand its private property but doesnt the residents have a say in who there guests can be?

This on the surface seems somewhat bizzare. However, before embarking down the route of what the bylaws may allow or not and, perhaps some related considerations, it would seem advisable for you to first ascertain the precise reason(s) for your now being barred from this property (assuming, of course, that you do not already know).
