Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
i was recently fired from my job. My last payday was 1/6/12 but i never received my check. my former boss refuses to tlak to me. When i asked the secretary she informed me she had the check to mail but my boss took it from her and kept it. Its been almost three weeks. can i sue? and if so can i get punitive damages for her blatant actions?

Sue, yes, for the value of the check or wages owed, but not including
punitive damages based upon these facts (in my opinion).
