Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
Is there any recourse for a company arbitrarily changing your pay rate in Virginia labor law? I work for a defense contractor in Afghanistan, but all of my paperwork says I am subject to Virginia labor law, the state where the company is based. We recently had a contract change and we knew that a reduction in pay went along with it. The company has refused to inform us of the new rate to the point where we are now in the new period and are currently getting paid this rate. As it stands now, we will not find out until we receive our first checks at this new rate. Does this expose them to any civil or criminal liability for their behavior?

No, not a chance (in my considered opinion).
