Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Resignation Terms

My employer has told me that as soon a I turn in my resignation that I will be asked to leave that day. Do I loose the 2 weeks pay and my vacation time or is there some obligations that the employer has to the employee.

I have been with the same company for 20 years. I am looking at another position with a competetor. I have 4 weeks vacation with this company.

Please advise. Thanks Ron Elder

Re: Resignation Terms

Your employer under Virginia law has no obligation to provide you with vacation leave

or pay unless it is guaranteed under a contract

of employment.
