Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I am responding to my unemployment benefits, which was disqualified for voluntary leaving my job.My previous employer stated they tried to reach me via my cell phone. I have showed documents my cell phone was cancel August 5, 2010. My employer never tried my primary number or my email. I am out of work since January 2, 2011, can you give me some advise after appealing my last meeting with VEC.

It would seem that you would also at least need to show that

it was understood to be your employer's responsibility to contact you

rather than vice versa, and, in the absence thereof, whether you made

any attempts to contact the employer on your own.
