Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Reverse discrimination

I was denied a position w/in my company because the person they gave the position to has repeatedly gone to H.R. to complain that he is being discriminated against. His accusations are always unfounded, yet they are always listened to and action has been taken. My qualifications are equal to his, however, this employee has a record of being a poor employee. I am known throughout the company as a trustful, hardworking employee. I am convinced that the position was given to him because management is afraid of what he might do if he did not get the position.

Do I have any recourse in this situation?

Re: Reverse discrimination

No, considering what your employer would likely say in rebuttal to your claim (which would likely be difficult to disprove), probably not.
