Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Salaried Position or Hourly Position

I have worked at 3 lumber yards. The first 2 paid me a salary as an Inside Sales Coordinator. The 3rd insists that the ''right and legal'' way in Virginia is to pay me hourly. What is the law? Can you send me the exact wording, law, etc. to clarify this matter? Thank you

Re: Salaried Position or Hourly Position

If you're considered a so-called nonexempt, i.e., non-managerial type employee under DOL (Department of Labor) rules and you are paid time and one half for all hours worked in excess of 40, then, probably, you should be paid by the hour.
