Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

salary reduction from employer view

I may have started my employees off with more than the company can afford. Given the current economic crisis the business is struggling. am I allowed to reduce salaries until we can pick back up to avoid layoffs? I don't want to lose them but I don't want to close business either.help.
