Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

security officer was terminated for discussing public record information being criminal history charges found on Virginia courts website related to co worker and was discussed with said co workers supervisor and Director. Employer contends public record information is confidental and therefore terminated the security officer. security officer states termination unjustfied. What do you think on this matter.

Yes, I agree with the security officer if the termination was for the reason of discussing a public record with a co-worker and/or supervisor. (Information contained in public records is not confidential and to say so is virtually a contradiction in terms.)
