Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Short Term Disability

I'm 25 years old and work at a clinic that employs less than 50 people. I'm missing a lot of work due to an illness. Doctors are still investigating my illness, which involves vomiting and diarrhea, weight gain of 40 pounds in two weeks, etc.

I want to find out about short term disability because I most days I can't go to work and I need time for doctors appts, labs, etc to find out what's wrong.

I'm not sure if short term disability is available through my work.

Is there anything I can do?

Re: Short Term Disability

Check with your HR and if they don't know, then contact the Virginia state agency which administers the Short Term Disability program in the Commonwealth.
