Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Slander?

I am a landscape designer/sale person for a design build company. As we where finishing the project I worked with the owner to develop a punch list that included resetting some brick work. The lead mason spoke with the client and told her that they could not make the correct repairs and suggested that the brick and the design were the reasons. That was not correct. His intent was to not be bothered with the repairs that were needed. My income from this work is commission driven and based upon the margin at payment in full.

Re: Slander?

No, I'm afraid I don't see what you've described(without more inculpating details) as actionable defamation against this particular lead mason.
