Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Speaking only English on the Job

We are a non-profit agency with 18 group homes for individuals with Mental Retardation. The majority of staff are from different countries in Africa, most of whom have English as a 2nd language. I tell them they are to speak english in the group homes since all of our consumers ( MR population) only speak english. Is there anything illegal about this work rule.

No, not likely, if it's a reasonable requirement for the job.
