Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

i started a job about three months ago. they pay weekly and held the first check. i have been let go this week after not working last week. they paid me for the week before i did'nt work but they say now that i didn't work last week that i will not get a final check because i didn't work last week?

If you're still owed for 40 hours (or whatever) for work that you completed during

this three month period of employment, then your former employer must

pay it or you could sue them for this amount in small claims court if they

continue to refuse.
