Termination disclosure

I am conserned about a backgrond

check from a future employer

because on of my jobs I was

discharged from Nordstrom. In the

state of Virginia what questions can

a future employer ask a past

employer? In short can they ask if i

would be rehired or if i was fired?

As far as I know, the prospective employer can ask those questions. (Of course, whether they'll get honest answers from the former employer(s)in response to these questions, is another matter entirely.)
