Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Termination due to injury at work.

A family member of mine had hurt himself on the job. He was out of work for 12 months under the care of a doctor. When the doctor finally released him and he tried to go back to work he was told, he could not come back. I was told by someone that in the state of virginia after 90 days on the job you can be terminated for any reason. Is this true in my family members case?

Re: Termination due to injury at work.

Why 90 days? You can be terminated at any time in the Commonwealth for almost any reason which doesn't violate federal anti-discrimination laws unless you're working under a contract or collective bargaining type of agreement which protects you from such summary dismissal.
