Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Tuition Re-imbursement

The Company I have been working for lost its contract and they cannot find me a job in the area that I live in. I used $4500 dollars of Tuition re-imbursement from the company in July of this year and it says that I have to stay with the company for a year after getting the re-imbursement which would be July 07, unless they let me go. I am not trying to leave the company but they have no positions. So my question is would I still be obligated to pay them back even if they can't find my a job in this location?

Re: Tuition Re-imbursement

Yes, apparently you would be unless the contract specifically states otherwise.(You might want to have an attorney review it to make sure.)
