Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Would I be voilating employment agreement

I am an employee of a VA based company ''A''. ''A'' has contract with ''B'' and ''B'' has a contract with ''C''. There is no contract between ''A'' and ''C''. I have been working as a consultant with ''C'' for over 2 years. Now ''C'' wants to hire me on a permanent basis.

My agreements with ''A'' states - since employer provides employee expensive computer related training, employee can not work for a client of company for a period one year of leaving the employer.

I have not received any training from my employer during my employment with ''A''. My questions are:

1. Will I be voilating my employment agreement if I join ''C''.

2. What could be the worst scenerio if I join ''C''.

Re: Would I be voilating employment agreement

The answer to your first question: probably.

The answer to the second: Your employer's right

to damages or legal remedies should you violate

the agreement should be spelled out in the non-compete agreement---which you signed.
