Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Wage discrimination due to gender?

My salary is approximately 15,000 to 20,000 less than my co-worker. We do the same job and I have 10+ years experience with no college degree where he has a college degree with no previous experience. I have consistently outperformed him and received excellent job performance reviews yet cannot get a straight answer from my HR person as to why my salary is much lower. Could I possibly have a case for wage discrimination?

Re: Wage discrimination due to gender?

Not very likely unless you could show a pattern and practice of pay and/or promotional discrimination against women employees on the part of your employer over a period of years.
