Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Wages and Time clock

I was wondering if an employee works and clocks in and out of a computerized time clock can the employer with out telling you until after the fact that he cut hours out becasue he is not paying for those even though they worked.

Also another question is if an employer changes an employees wages with out notice until after the fact can this be done?

Re: Wages and Time clock

Under the FLSA(Fair Labor Standard Act) an employer must pay all salaried, non/managerial employees for all hours that they actually work.

Unless an employee's rate of compensation is fixed by contract or collective bargaining agreement, the employer is free to modify this rate of compensation at any time.
