Withholding or Deduction from pay
My father works for a factory and about 11 years ago we was given a promotion and went from hourly wages to salary. When the company did the transiton from hourly to salary they withheld a weeks pay. Now, a few weeks ago the company decided to put all supervisors back on hourly wages and again the company withheld a weeks pay of his last salary check. I can understand them withholding the weeks pay at the beginning when he went to salary to even out things but can they withhold another weeks pay when they went back to hourly. My father worked the entire time during this last pay period and some. I am doing this research for him because he feels that this was not right. Your input is greatly appreciated.

What does your father's company say as to the reason for the withholding? Until this is known,

an adequate answer cannot be provided to your question.
