Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I work as a clinician with a company that provides support to people with physical/mental disabilities. The company bills medicade for the hours I work. I often work over 40 hours a week. Five years ago when I started with the company, they said I can't get paid overtime,but can work as many hours as I want and get regular pay for it. It has always bothered me that I don't get time and a half, is what the company doing to its employees legal by not providing time and a half?

No, it is not unless you're classified as a salaried employee rather

than one compensated on an hourly basis. (If the latter, your employer

by law must compensate you time and one half for all hours worked

over 40 in any given week.)
