Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I work for a company in Virgina which is a right to work state. I have been with this company off and on since 2002 and I havent been written up since 2003/2004. Over the holidays we lost our shift manager, so the store manager didnt have to work extra hours during the christmas season I took what they call a temp manager position and I told them this was only goign to be through the christmas season which with this company ends on Jan 16th. Well when Jan 16th came along they hadnt even interviewed anyone for the position. So I waiting until finally in mid Feb I got tired of waiting for them to interview someone so I gave my manager a written notice(a months notice) that on March 9th I would be stepping down from the Temp manager position and back down to my regular status as a part timer. before we lost the orginal shift manager I averaged 10-20hours a week. When I stepped down from management in March my manager wasnt to happy with it, in fact he had to work 15 extra hours a week because at this company a Manager has to close the store. So when they didnt interview anyone for the job which had been open for almost four months I got tired of waiting so I stepped down. One week after they hired someone for the third key position which is the shift manager position, I worked one ten hour week and I havent been put on the scedule since. I wasnt given a reason. I havent been written up since 2003/2004. I think I was taken off the scedule because the manager got mad when I stepped down because he had to work 15 extras hours a week that he just took me off the scedule. What can i do about this?

Very likely nothing at all for the reason you've stated in your opening sentence, i.e.,"Virginia is a right to work state." ( This answer assumes that you were not working under the protection of an enforceable contract or collective bargaining type of agreement.)
