Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I work in a McDonald's restaurant and 1 of the managers don't like me just because her own personal reasons it has nothing to do with the job at all and if I lose my job because she don't like me how can I go pawn having a lawsuit
1 Answer from Attorneys
Lawsuits must be based upon facts that have actually occurred and
not speculations as to facts that might occur in the future and consequently
you will need to await your actual termination and base any litigation that might thereafter ensue on credible and actionable facts which are the basis for such termination before you decide to file any case.
However, FYI, an employee in Virginia who is working without the protection of an enforceable contract can be fired without penalty to the employer for almost
any reason that doesn't violate federal anti-discrimination laws and being fired
merely because the supervisor doesn't like the employee is not covered as discrimination under such laws and would not be a valid basis for a lawsuit.
