Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I work at a retail store as a part time cashier. I have become a devout christian overe the past 3-4 years. When i started going to church i asked if i could change my availability so that i could come into work no earlier than 1pm so i could go to my churches worship service and still be available to work on sundays. They said yes and signed off on it. I checked my schedule for this coming sunday 4/15/2012 and found i had to work from 10-3 on sunday. I approached my manager who is a salaried asst store manager and asked how come i was scheduled to work. His reply was that going to church wasnt a good enough reason to have an availability request and that they would not honor it anymore. To me this reeks of religious discrimination/harassment. Can you help shed some light onto this for me please.

The light that can be shed with not be to your liking since there's nothing

(as far as I am aware) either in Virginia or federal law that requires

Virginia employers to adjust employee work schedules to accommodate their requests to attend church services.
