Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I work in security field. The work site I patrol it is in a neighborhood that has public streets. My boss wants to cut cost on gas in the company's patrol vehicle. So they are requesting all security to conduct patrols using bicycles that the company is going provide. I guess I would not find it a problem if I was younger like in my 20's but I am in my 40's. Can I get fired for not riding a bike?

Yes, I would say that's a real possibility unless, you have a disability recognized under

the ADA that would prevent you from riding a bike to carry out your assigned tasks

for this company and that would necessarily require the company to accommodate

your disability in some way that would obviate your need to ride a bike to do

your job (in my opinion)..
