Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I work in the state of Virginia and out of town all the time. My employer notified me today that my travel time to and from the hotel will no longer be paid and that any travel time during the day less than 30 minutes will not be paid. Also that all computer and paperwork associated with my job is to be done on my own time in the evenings and it will not be paid. Is this legal?

Assuming that you are not actually employed with the state of
Virginia but merely work for a private employer located in
the commonwealth, then, my answer to your question would
be, yes, quite legal, as far as I am aware, as long as you're
not working pursuant to a valid contract of employment or
collective bargaining type of agreement which would
prohibit the conditions or practices which you've described.
