Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I worked for a large corporation in northern Virginia. I was removed from my area of expertise under the pretence that a system project could not succeed without me as a Subject Matter Expert. I was subsequently placed in a Project Management position without training, experience or education. When I expressed concern of my limitations regarding system projects, I was promised by my VP that as long as he was employed at the company, I would have a job. The project began in July 2009. I completed the gathering of business requirements in December 2009. My VP terminated me for Loss Of Confidence on March 2010. I received 12 months severance per company policy regarding termination for Loss of Confidence. VP is still employed at the company. The industry I work in is small in DC metro area and my reputation is damaged. Im still unemployed. Do I have a case.

A case for what and on what basis? Virginia is an employment at will jurisdiction where if you're an employee working without a contract, you can be fired for
almost any reason (or no reason) that doesn't violate federal anti-discrimination laws.
