Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I have worked in nursing at a privately owned office for the last 2.5 years. Scrubs are the required work wear.

Management recently decided to change the policy to wear only black scrubs without any trim. Do I have to comply and purchase black scrubs out of pocket? If so, is there a legal window of time they have to give me to purchase a weeks worth of new scrubs?

Yes, I would opine that you do need to comply (in the absence of a valid contract or

collective bargaining agreement that says otherwise). As to your last question,

it would seem advisable to ask your HR department or its equivalent in regard to the

timeframe that your employer may have in mind for this compliance.
