Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I have worked for the past 10 years with a large IT Systems Integrator in Virginia, as an hourly independent contractor, on government contracts, lately I have been asked to work only 40 hours but to take comp time, for all hours worked over 40, my hourly rate is $85 an hour, and they have never paid any overtime, as I did not know if I am entitled to that. What are my options here ?

No, as an independent contractor, under DOL (Dept. of Labor) rules/regs.,
this company has no obligation to pay you time and one half for any
hours that you may work in any given week in excess of 40.
