Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Wrongful termination/Breach of Contract question

I was let go from a contracted position with a local county park & rec department. I was not provided 30 days written notice as our contract states, nor was I given a reason.

Admittedly, I am in at at-will state, but provisions in the contract state if the job is being performed adequately, there is no reason to replace the person in my position.

In addition, the county is now trying to say I left on my own, and saying they do not make the employment decisions, but I have multiple correspondence and the contract that say otherwise.

Do I have a leg to stand on for either a wrongful termination or breach of contract case?

Re: Wrongful termination/Breach of Contract question

It depends all on terms and conditions of service and correspondence. Better advise needs copies of contract and correspondence.

Hard to say without actually reviewing the contract.
