Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
wrongfully fired
i was terminated from my job because i received a felony drug indictment.it wouldn't have interferred with me doing my job because i was back to work on the scheduled day i was to return.yes i was given unemployment but not enough to take care of my family.the case was later thrown out because no one came to testify and i was taken off bond and let go with no ristrictions. my point is that a few other employees as well as supervisors have prior felonies and the company that i have worked for held their job as well as postion til they served their time in jail. i was never put in jail or had to stay. did this company have a right to do this

Re: wrongfully fired
Yes, I'm afraid the company does have the right to do what you've described in the employment-at-will jurisdiction known as the Commonwealth of Virginia.
