Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
My apartment lease had expired. I requested a new one four times, but never got one. Then I got a bill stating I had back rent due because I was on month-to-month. I got a notice from the office saying that if I did not pay all the back rent by a certain date eviction proceedings would begin. I did not pay the back rent. Then I moved out. Can they still hold me liable for two months move-out notice stated in my original lease agreement?
