Barn lease
A lease has been offered, negotiated, and signed by a tenent. Lease is for one year, and specifically the use of a barn and associated fields. So far, a deposit and one months rent has been paid to the landlord. We are 5 weeks into the one year lease, and thus far, the landlord has not provided a copy of the lease to the tenent. The Landlord now wants to move us out of the barn and into a shed, and has pointed out that we do not have a signed lease in hand. Evidently, someone else is interested in renting the barn. Any suggestions on what we can/should do?

Tell the landlord that the tenant(you, if that's who you are)has a valid lease which is good for one year and that you have no intention of moving anywhere---least of all into a shed.
The fact that at the moment you do not have in your possession a signed copy of the lease in no
way signifies that such a lease does not in fact exist.
