Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Co-Signer on Apartment for Cousin
I co-signed on an apartment unit to help my cousin. Her and her boyfriend are not faithful payers; therefore, I no longer want to co-sign on this apartment since there lease is up next month. What actions do I take to let her know and the apartment complex?

I expect you will not get out of this without paying the rent. It is quite possible that "letting her and the complex know," may lead them to come after you for the rent should the tenants actually stop paying.
