Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
After the Earthquake 8/23/2011 our washing machine water drains became clogged from the shaking. the landlord was notified after the water backed up into the house and plumber was sent out to snake the drain. After this we were sent a bill for $198.00. Are we responsible for this if it was not our fault?

No, (in my opinion) not unless your current lease makes you responsible
for all damages to your leased property proximately caused by acts of God.
