Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

employment

I have been working at my job for over 2 years, very successfully. I was recently asked to submit to a background check. my statement of work says that a security clearance is not required. now, because of things on my credit report, i could possibly lose my job. in my 2 years I have not had to access classified material nor will I. If I am fired, even though my statement of work says the clearance is not required, do I have legal recourse?
