Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

I been evicted,my belongings has been put in the street.During the eviction I over heard the sheriff saying it was a lock out,so my question is now that my things have been put out and rained on ,can i take the lanlord to court?

It would appear to all come down to whether the eviction was done legally or not. If not, then the landlord could be legally responsible for

any damages to your personal property which may have occurred during the

eviction process.
