Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Eviction
I live with two roommates in a three bedroom townhouse in Harrisonburg, va. Numerous times I have come home from work to find my landlord in my house without reasonable cause and the only explanation he could give me was ''you have a burgular... me.'' He has told my neighbors that we are too young to live there and he did not want us to live there, so if they ever heard any noise from us at all, to let him know. Then, he made us sign a paper stating that we would never be outside after nine pm not even to get something out of our car, which is almost impossible considering we are all waitresses and work late hours. Last week, he dropped off an eviction notice in our house without letting us know that he was coming over. The eviction notice did not state why were were getting evicted other than ''he had recieved valid complaints'' not to mention it was filled with grammer and spelling mistakes. Is there anything we can do?

Re: Eviction
Yes, you could contest the eviction in general district court but, on further reflection, why would you want to?
