Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
If I file a warrant in debt in general district court, do I (the plaintiff) need to be present at the "return date" or can I have an attorney appear on my behalf?

Someone must appear on your behalf. An attorney can do that for you. If no one shows up on your case, the court will dismiss your case (with the possibility of re-filing it).
