Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Hotel Say Will Not be Extended
I am in VA on business for an extended period 4 months. I checked into a hotel and tried to place an departure date 4 months out. They did not allow it and I was extending my stay only 1 or 2 weeks out. Yesterday, I went to extend my stay again. I was told they are booked an I would have to leave on Monday, tomorrow. I tried to work with hotel management, but they say, sorry we are booked. There is no problem with my bill.
Because they are the only hotel in 35 miles that accept animals (I have one), I would have to travel over 20 miles to work and cannot carpool with my other consultants here.
Can they just kick me out with no place to stay after I have stayed here for 5 weeks already?
What are my rights? Do I have any squatters rights? or something?

Re: Hotel Say Will Not be Extended
The hotel management is fully within its rights to curtail your stay in order to meet its other booking obligations.
Do I have "squatter's rights"?, you ask. Not hardly. (This is clearly not a situation where a claimant may acquire title to land through a legal device known as adverse possession.)
